Winston Reid
That performance today deserves it's own thread, absolute colossus and up there with one of the best defensive displays I've seen in the past 20 years.

With his best years still ahead of him, a 6 year deal recently signed with the bonus of having scored a winning goal against Millwall at Upton Park, he could well be on his way to becoming a modern day West Ham great.

Great performance today and a shame we didn't get the result we deserved.

Single country? No thanks
I'm a Chartered Accountant and the Aust & NZ bodies voted to merge a couple of years back.
I voted against obviously

NZ Accountants ..... If anything was more boring it would be made of CARDBOARD

Re: Winston Reid
There was talk of Aussie and NZ becoming a single country again and I can see a lot of benefits in that.

For starters, your rugby team wouldn't be the worst in the Southern Hemisphere any more.

It must be tiring to live your entire life in some sort of constant comparison against what Australia has or hasn't done.
Can't you develop a rivalry with Suva or Vanuatu instead?

Re: Winston Reid
Wasn't aware of that.
Did Australia beg you to stay ?

I'M JOKING OF COURSE

We already have Tasmania and Rottnest

Re: Winston Reid
I'd put Rutherford and Hillary up against Australia's two most famous people, Rolf Harris and Dame Edna Everidge, any day Cough.

Re: Winston Reid
His name was misspelt Earnest when his birth was registered.
Which would have been a very suitable name for most NZ men.
His father was from Hornchurch of course.

I'm talking back in the day, when we voted to leave Gondwanaland.

We were at risk of being overrun by feral creatures like Australians.

Re: Winston Reid
Well seeing as you referred to Hilary, I thought I would name another pretty famous Kiwi

Re: Winston Reid
Was Rutherford a left back?

Didn't realise Australia ever owned NZ. Almost as big a loss as the Hutt River Province

Re: Winston Reid
The best thing NZ ever did was vote to leave Australia.

Fraser was talking about continents.
Australia is a continent. New Zealand is part of the submerged continent Zealandia. We have no continental relationship with you AMPHIBIANS.
My original statement was that Winston Reid is NZ's greatest ever sportsman. Which is true.
My second statement was that he is the greatest NZer of all time ahead of the bloke that Sherpa Tenzing piggybagged up Everest.

I'm sure if they were sniffing around he'd be at one of them now.

Getting back to his best. Been outstanding the last few games. This is the player the big clubs were sniffing around.

Re: Winston Reid
He and the rest of the back 5 need to continue to produce these types of performances cos we are not going to score as many as we have been whilst we're missing 4-5 of our best attacking players.

Re: Winston Reid
All his best displays this year have come when Tomkins as played at RB, hasnt been left isolated as jenkinson tries to get back, hopefully tomkins stays in team at rb now. Really like ogbonna too, comftable in possesion an always looking to pass ball out
